At Sunflour Baking Company we believe in freshness. In fact, our motto is "from scratch. small batch. local". Meaning everything we bake and sell is made in small batches, and from scratch to ensure freshness. Order cupcakes online and we ship them off in mason-style glass jars and finish them with a layer of buttercream frosting to make sure that when you open that cupcake box it's like walking into one of our local bakeries.

When getting the hang of how to make cupcakes in a jar, the key is it's all about personal preference. Want just one cupcake in your jar? Go with a 4 oz jar. Feel like doubling up? The 8 oz jars perfectly fit two cupcakes and all the frosting and toppings that your heart desires. For those exceptional sweet tooth days, 12 oz jars fit three cupcakes and all their topping goodness. Jars with wide openings also make it easier to maintain the structure of your cupcakes and add your buttercream and toppings easily.

One of the best thing about cupcakes is that the possibilities are endless. You can go super sweet, like double chocolate chip and salted caramel buttercream cupcakes. Or go more with more savory flavors. If you're more of a traditional flavor lover, German Chocolate and Birthday Cake are some of our favorites. Once your cakes are baked, you're ready to move on to packing your jars to perfection.

Sealing your jars may be the toughest part. But, don't let it deter you! The easiest way to seal your jars for freshness is to put all the flat lids (not the rings, just the lids) into a pot with water. Bring the pot to a boil and then turn it off. As soon as you finish decorating your cupcakes, use a pair of tongs to pull out one of the flat lids. Quickly pat it dry and then pop it on your jar and seal with the ring. As the lid cools, you may hear a soft 'pop,' which is the sound of the jars sealing.

Once your mason jars are sealed, they will last for a few days at room temperature. To enjoy your cupcake creation, later on, put them in the refrigerator or freezer. Refrigerated cupcakes in a jar will last for a week and frozen cupcakes up to 6 months!

I'm a big fan of cupcakes. Giving and eating them way more than making them. And while I make Boozy Cupcakes from time to time, when it comes to celebrating friends and family that aren't close by, mailing some cupcakes in jars is the way to go!

You can choose a lid based on the occasion. Making them a perfect gift idea for every event. Or for no event. Because no one is going to turn down cupcakes just because they don't have a solid reason.

My nieces live in Nevada and I don't often get to spend their birthdays with them. How excited would they be to open up a package of cupcakes?! And my husband's cousin and cousin's wife just bought a new house in Connecticut. What a great housewarming present!

I am severely disappointed in Wicked Good Cupcakes. After seeing them on Shark Tank, and having come from my home state, I was eager to try them out. I decided to send a couple cupcakes to my dad as a gift. I paid as much in shipping via UPS as I did for the cupcakes, which was fine and I was happy to pay it.

I'm so sorry you had this experience. It seems to me that your issue is mainly with the shipping company. Unfortunately, bad shipping happens but what is a small business to do when the vendor has paperwork showing they completed their job? It puts them between a rock and a hard place. I can only go from my personal experience in getting to try the cupcakes that I would order from them again. It is completely understandable that you might not. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I ordered 14 of these sweet little goodness cupcakes in a jar from Sara on short notice for Thanksgiving. She had them ready to go in no time flat and they were delicious!!! Thanks Sara Paisley & Dash!

If you have only made cupcakes in a muffin pan you MUST try them this way! I love easy. Instead of adding in the list of ingredients on the side of the cake box, I just added a can of soda to the mix!! Believe me, they turn out amazing.

Before our only other smaller option for treats was this recipe for 6 cupcakes. Now these work great as an after dinner YUM too. They are the perfect size for everybody. With a scoop of gelato on top seeping inside the cupcake = yum!

As the two owners passed out samples of the cupcakes in a jar, they pitched the products to the Sharks. They shared that they have three main sources of revenue: in-store, online, and wholesale clients. Notably, the two made sure to point out that the extra cost to use mason jars was well worth it to their customers, many of whom pointed out that they loved the crafty, homemade feel of the product. While some of the Sharks weren't convinced due to the risk of the company's ideas being replicated, the short shelf life, and the slim profit margins, Kevin O'Leary saw the potential.

In 2021, Hickory Farms acquired Wicked Good Cupcakes. Today, these jarred cupcakes can be purchased from a variety of places. According to the Wicked Good Cupcakes website, they are still available for order online. Continuing our monthlong celebration of birthdays and all things sweet, Jen from the very sweet site Beantown Baker has dreamed up a thoughtful way to share birthday cake with friends who are far away: cupcakes baked in Mason Jars! Here she goes:

Since cupcakes are my favorite thing to bake, I decided to send them cupcakes. I had seen this idea online and decided to give it a shot. I sent cupcakes in a jar to family members across the country. They were all pretty shocked when the packages came. It was fun to get the phone calls from each of them thanking me for the creative way to share my baking with them. My Dad loved it so much, I've been told that he tells everyone about it. As a not-so-subtle hint, he also gave me a box of new jars for my birthday. I think he's expecting more cupcakes in a jar this year for his birthday!

You can assemble these two ways. You can cut the cupcakes in half. Then place one half of the cupcake in the mason jar, swirl in some frosting, another cupcake half and then more frosting. Depending on the size of the cupcakes and the frosting you may have room for one more half of a cupcake and more frosting.

This recipe could certainly be used to make regular cupcakes (not in a jar) as well. Simply cut out a hole in the center of a baked and cooled cupcake, add a spoonful of Marshmallow Fluff, and top with Orange Cream Cheese Frosting.recipe from Glorious Treats

I decided to make two flavors of cupcakes and send one of each to the lucky family members. I wanted to go with relatively ordinary flavors, so I went with yellow funfetti cupcakes with chocolate frosting, and chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. I also threw in some add-ins with the cupcake and frosting. In the yellow cupcake jars, I added sprinkles and in the chocolate cupcake jars, I added crushed up Oreos. 041b061a72
